Bell Investment Advisors Sponsors Oakland East Bay Symphony’s American Masterworks Series

OAKLAND, CA. May 9, 2011 – Bell Investment Advisors, official sponsor of the Oakland East Bay Symphony’s American Masterworks Series, announced this season’s upcoming concert on May 13, a concert version of the Tony Award winning Street Scene with music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Langston Hughes and Elmer Rice; the book is by Elmer Rice. The concert will be conducted by Maestro Michael Morgan.

Weill is one of the most innovative and influential composers of the 20th century. In Street Scene, he mixes show tunes, jazz, arias, folk songs and spirituals. The production includes 12 different soloists, the Oakland Symphony Chorus, and the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir. The concert will be on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 8 PM at the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Oakland. (http://www.oebs.org/page/may13.htm)
