Bell Investment Advisors has been a major supporter of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choirs (PEBCC.org) for almost ten years. We are lifelong music lovers and consider our involvement with Bay Area music and arts organizations central to making a good life happen for our family, our business, ourselves, and our community.
Both of Forrest’s daughters, ages eleven and six, started singing with the Choirs when each was just three years old. With each year, they, along with other choir participants, perform with increasing skill and graduate onto the next level. As they evolve, PEBCC members begin to perform in other cities and eventually in other countries, and become part of an international network of choirs that perform all around the world. It’s almost impossible to imagine how this experience enriches the lives of the participants, their families . . . and concert audiences!
International Youth Choirs Coming to the East Bay
If you are interested in witnessing a slice of this astonishing and inspirational phenomenon for yourself, you are in luck, because the Golden Gate International Choral Festival, which occurs only once every three years, will be taking place right here in Oakland and Berkeley from July 8 through July 14, 2018. The Golden Gate International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival, founded in 1991, is the only recurring international choral competition for children and youth in the United States. And Bell Investment Advisors, along with the National Endowment for the Arts, is a pleased and proud sponsor!
How You Can Witness This
The festival will consist of many musical events in various East Bay locations throughout the week, culminating in the popular Grand Finale, involving mass choirs from around the world, and the one event you won’t want to miss. This final performance will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 at the Oakland Inter-State Center (aka Mormon Temple), 4780 Lincoln Avenue, in the Oakland hills. There will be other wonderful concerts open to the public beginning with the Opening Concert on Monday, July 9, 7 – 9 pm at the Oakland Scottish Rite Center and ten free concerts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Berkeley.
