OAKLAND, CA. May 1, 2014 – Bell Investment Advisors (bellinvest.com), in the tradition of community partnership between business and the arts, is again the official sponsor of the Oakland East Bay Symphony’s season finale. Maestro Michael Morgan will conduct the 25th anniversary concert, “Berlioz’s Requiem”, on Friday, May 16 in downtown Oakland at the historic Paramount Theatre.
Berlioz RequiemBerlioz’s masterwork is a powerful, deeply moving and a timelessly relevant tribute to victims of war. It features an unusually large orchestra, chorus, tenor soloist and four brass ensembles, making it one of the most impressive works of the Romantic era.
Featured artists include tenor Thomas Glenn, who has made appearances in past OEBS performances. Glenn performed in John Adams’ opera, Doctor Atomic, earning a Grammy award in 2012.
Visit the Oakland East Bay Symphony’s website, www.oebs.org, for complete concert details and ticket information.
Jim Bell comments: “Music lovers know Hector Berlioz as the composer of ‘Architectural Music.’ If you are curious about what that might mean, please join us at Oakland’s Paramount Theatre on May 16.”
